On the evenings of June 13-16,
children ages 5-13 will learn valuable soccer skills from our coaching staff and important life lessons from God’s Word - all while enjoying Christian fellowship. The camp is held in the cooler evening hours, from 6:00 - 8:15 pm, on the campus of Risen Savior Lutheran Church in Pooler. A special clinic will be put on by coach Tom Melville, the men's soccer coach at SCAD, and one of his players. With 24 years of experience coaching at the highest levels, he will share his knowledge and instruction in our Tuesday night clinic.
Camp director, James Borgwardt, played college soccer and has coached youth soccer over the years. The Camp coaching staff likewise has an enthusiasm for children, as well as experience playing and/or coaching soccer.
We’ll be covering a variety of techniques including: dribbling, passing, shooting, heading, receiving, and conditioning. Each evening, the students will also take 20 minutes for a Bible lesson, which will center on the theme: "Pressing Toward the Goal." Registration is only $20. Children will receive four days of action-packed soccer instruction, four bible lessons on the love that God has for them, a camp t-shirt, sports water bottle and a fun time with old and new friends.
